There are many services for travel information and consulting on the market but only afew can be called neutral and independent. The Bernhard-Nocht-Institut for tropical medicine (BNITM) started already back in the 90s in the area of travel medicine and made their extensive knowledge about health risks in several international countries available to travelers via the “Reisemedizinische Zentrum (RMZ)” (travel medicine centre). When the demand grew dramatically BNITM joined with MD Medicus in 2006 in a merger to run the RMZ together.
Beside the high aspirations in quality and neutrality the medical scientific editorial department and medical consultation services have been significantly extended. Short and direct ways of information are vital especially when it comes to consulting and information pandemia. That is why the offices are still in the building of the BNITM. Beside a hotline for all travelers there are special offers for partners, compulsory and private health funds but also for companies, enterprises and clubs.
